Who doesn’t want to be an indie game developer?
I have been playing video games since the days of Pong. My earliest programming experience came with my Tandy TRS-80 computer. So why on earth has it taken this long to decide to to make games?
I’ve always desired to make video games, my closest experience was RPG Maker on the Playstation. Growing up the tools and the teaching were just not available. I was also not very good at math. By the time games started implementing make your own levels and mods I was in the thick of the busiest time of my life.
It took a pandemic to get me to really think about the next phase of my life. At 46 years old I figured it would be a good time to learn skills that age hopefully wouldn’t effect. I found great online learning resources including Udemy and Zenva Academy and the tools of the trade and here we are. My dream to become an indie game developer was back on!
Currently game development and coding is my hobby, I want to learn as much as I can and develop and finish games. Having a good job gives me the opportunity to have fun with this. But make no mistake, this is a serious endeavor for me, and I hope you’ll come along for the journey
